Tranche Cellars
Tranche Cellars is a stunning winery to visit – the vineyard climbs as high as 1,265 feet for breathtaking views of the Walla Walla Valley. They focus on “expressive, aromatic and beautifully defined wines,” and create reds, roses and whites. They have estate wines, including their flagship reds – Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. The Tranche Cellars tasting room has a modern look, with stone, Art Deco lighting and concrete. The tasting room is open by appointment only. During the nicer months, expect have outdoor concerts with live music. Bring a picnic, listen to the music and have a glass or bottle of wine. Palencia Wine Company
Palencia Wine Company was voted as the 2019 Pacific Northwest Winery of the Year, so it should be on everyone’s lists of wineries to visit. Owner Victor Palencia has been a part of the Washington wine scene for over 20 years. Their wines are made in limited supply, due to the exclusivity of the site distinctions. Buty Winery
At Buty Winery, each wine has a distinctive personality, say the owners, who believe great vineyards and wine have a soul. This means each of their wines has its own unique flavor, whether a red, white or a blend. This also means they practice natural winemaking, with gentle techniques including minimal handling and little or no new oak. Buty Winery Blends combine varietals from the same vineyard and are not made with enhancement tools like dehydrators, concentrators or spinning cones.
